Random Thoughts on Life

Just some things I want to remember about life right now...

  • Can't believe my baby girl is almost 9 months already!! Craziness.

  • Our ministry as youth pastor & wife is going well, thanks to God. Tony loves his job and we're enjoying getting to know the kids better. Hard to believe we've been up here almost 8 months already.

  • This weekend we're celebrating with the 3 seniors in our youth group who just graduated from high school. Next year will be a much bigger group...around 7 or 8. I think we have 4-5 8th graders moving up in the fall.

  • Tony is also working at the Y and that job has been such a huge blessing--he can work as much or as little as he wants, works in aquatics which he is experienced in and loves, and he has good people to work with/for. [And I'm happy because I recently found out I can get a membership for a very discounted rate! So now that my gym membership has expired, I'm off to the Y].

  • Busy time of year! Tony is preparing for an upcoming missions trip to the Southeast with the youth group to serve the homeless, orphans, and elderly. We're excited to see how the Lord's going to use this trip in the lives of these youth and those they minister to [I'll be at home with Hannah Beth]. Much prayer wanted and needed...

  • This past week we enjoyed a little vacation with my mom, dad, younger sister and younger brother to Branson, MO. Another post to come with pictures and more details on that...

  • I'm sad to see the end of two things this week...my ladies' Bible study--last meeting will be on Tuesday morning and then we take a break for the summer. We've been studying "Spiritual Warfare" and I've really enjoyed everything about the study...the reading, discussions, and just fellowship with other young[ish] moms.

  • This is also the last week [until the fall] of the fitness classes that I've been attending at a local church. They provide childcare for the one-hour class and it's been a great time to get a good workout and a little change of pace in my day. I've also enjoyed doing this with a few other ladies from my Bible study. I've only attended one or two classes each week, but it's become a part of my routine and I will miss it.

  • A couple weeks ago, my mom and I planted some impatiens seeds along the fence in our back yard, and I'm excited to watch them [hopefully!] poke their little heads out of the ground and grow. I know virtually nothing about gardening but I really enjoyed preparing the soil and getting those seeds planted...maybe this can be the beginning of a new hobby...just maybe.

  • Hannah Beth is crawling around like crazy now [started at about 8 1/2 months], getting faster and more coordinated each day. She's so fun to watch. Sadly, she has been pretty miserable the past week or so, with teething.. I'm thinking she's cutting 4 teeth at once :( More on those developments in her 9 month post...

  • We're also looking ahead to a full summer...Bible camps, trip to the beach, quality time with family & friends...and lots of time on the road.

  • And I'll leave you with a photo of Hannah Beth's first time swimming in a "big pool"---she LOVED it!!
