Size: around 17-18 lbs.
Clothes: 9 monthsDiapers: size 3
- At 7 1/2 months, you started doing lots of new things--using your pincer grasp to pick up small things (puffs, cheerios, pieces of toast) to feed yourself.
- You started to be able to sit up on your own at 7 1/2 months, but you don't really love to sit up, you'd rather be on your tummy.
- You also started to rock back and forth on your hands and knees, push up on your hands and feet, and at exactly 8 months, you started to "army crawl!" You can get anywhere you want to go by doing this army crawling...so we've had to watch you much more closely now. Bet it won't be long before you crawl on your hands and knees.
- You love to play with your toys on the living room floor and you've started to be really interested in your stuffed animals too...you have a LOT of them...several were given to us for your big sister Alethia Joy.
- You love to eat. New foods you've tried this month: bread, cheerios, mum-mums, plums, and baby yogurt. You've liked basically everything we've fed you, and you eat 3 meals a day and nurse 4-5 times.
- You reach for everything within your grasp and love things that make crackling, crunching sounds, like paper, water bottles, etc.
- You apparently already have a love for foreign languages, because you keep figuring out where we hide the Latin & Spanish books!
- Playing peek-a-boo makes you happy!
- You chew on everything you can--still just have the bottom two teeth.
- You definitely have an independent spirit; you hate to have your face or nose wiped and can't stand having your teeth brushed. You want to hold the toothbrush on your own!
- You still love water, whether it's running from the faucet, tub, or in a sippy cup (to play with, not really drink!). You really enjoy bathtime, and like to sit up in the bathtub now and splash. You don't mind getting water poured over your head or in your face when you're in the bathtub.
- We've spent as much time as possible outside now that the weather is slowly warming up. You love exploring the outdoors and feeling the grass in your toes (and trying to eat grass and leaves).
- You LOVE people and attention from anyone and everyone. You've recently started riding in the top part of a shopping cart and it's so fun to see you looking around at everything and everyone. Lots of people comment on how cute and smiley you are!
- People also talk about how well you make eye contact and you make lots of cute and funny noises.
