We spent Monday-Saturday on vacation at the beach with some of Tony's family. It was so wonderful and relaxing! We enjoyed time on the water, evenings playing games and watching TV, several trips to DQ, and a few other delicious meals out "on the town."
Here's our whole group enjoying a seafood dinner.
They even threw a little shower for baby girl on our last night.
Grandma D. gave us a beautiful pink blanket that she had spent many hours knitting.
In other news...
We have been...growing!
We experienced quite a scare on Sunday morning, however. I was lying in bed, enjoying feeling baby girl moving energetically and feeling her rhythmic hiccups, when suddenly all movement and hiccups stopped. I poked and prodded at my stomach, got up to use the bathroom, tried sitting up, lying in different positions, and couldn't feel anything. I was really panicking. My mind started filling with thoughts of saying good-bye to another little life. It was absolutely terrifying. I woke up Tony and told him what was happening and immediately we prayed together. Soon after, I started feeling baby girl moving again and just thanked and praised the Lord that she had only been sleeping. That was the longest 20 minutes of my life.
My last 2 dr. appts. have gone great. I found out 2 Mondays ago that I am already 2-3 cm dilated and 80% effaced! It's good to know that baby girl is making some progress to make her way out of there. Maybe we won't even have to be induced...only time will tell.
The dr. that I saw yesterday said that my N.S.T. strip belonged in a textbook! In other words, it looked great and was a sign of "fetal well-being," as he put it. Wonderful news to hear and we hope and pray, pray, pray that baby girl continues to stay healthy and strong.
Though I tire very easily lately, I am starting to feel a little of the "nesting" phase kicking in...
In the last couple of days, we have installed the car seat,
Worked on a few loads of baby laundry (I just love folding baby clothes!),
and done some rearranging and organizing in the nursery.
We are stocked up and ready to go (and yes, we need a bigger closet!).

I am soooooo excited for you!
Oh Charity, I'm so sorry for that scare! I had a couple of moments like that with my pregnancies, it's so scary... I am praying for your sweet little girl and can't wait to meet her. I'm so glad you are already so dilated and effaced! IF you make it to the induction date, it should go very well.
