But I am.
I believe and know that He is all-powerful, all-knowing, always forgiving, always loving, and always providing. The list could go on and on...
But so often my feeble, human mind cannot comprehend and understand the fact that He cares for me - for my family - and even the teeny, nitty-gritty details of our lives.
Yesterday we received news of a way that the Lord has continued to provide for our needs in a tangible way. I would be happy to share more details on a individual basis. We're still in a little bit of shock - in a good way.
But as a follow-up to this post, I wanted to encourage any of you - we serve a God who promises to supply all of our needs [not necessarily our wants!]- and He will keep His promises. It may not be in our timing or the ways that we expect, but He will always come through for us if we remain faithful to Him.
"Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided—
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!"
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided—
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!"
Some verses popped out at me last night - from 1 Timothy 6:17-19 - and after reading them over I could see how much I need to pray to this end - so I turned these verses into a personal prayer.
- May I never fix my hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.
- May I do good, to be rich in good works.
- May I be generous and ready to share. (my husband is a very generous person - but generosity does not come easy for me - I so often struggle with this and my selfish attitude)
- Lord help me to store up for myself the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that I may take hold of that which is life indeed.
I love that phrase "that I may take hold of that which is life indeed."
"Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." John 14:6 (emphasis mine)
