The REST of the road trip...

The week after our beach vacation, Tony traveled to Texas to be the speaker at a youth camp - his messages were on the life of Daniel. While he was gone, Hannah Beth and I stayed at his grandma's house and spent the week with various family and friends. Here are some of the highlights of our week...[warning...many pictures ahead!!]

A playdate to the Museum of Life & Science with our friends Pam & Talia
And then another playdate at Talia's house. These girls had quite the competition for toys! They both need a little practice in sharing, haha.

Early morning [before it got too hot!] walks with Mimi!

Cooling off in the pool!
Chillin' out with Papa, and chewing on a carrot apparently helps those toothies feel better!

Opening an early birthday present from Great Grandmama

A visit from my sweet friends Julie and Sarah! [Sarah is reading Hannah Beth a book called Most of All, Jesus Loves You -  she gave it to her when she was just a newborn and now it's one of her favorite books!]

Coffee and time to chat at Starbucks :) Oh how I've missed these girls!!

An IHOP lunch with Tatiana, a lovely lady who was in our NC youth group.

With Mimi and Papa at Las Palmas, our favorite Mexican restaurant

Dinner at O'Charley's (can you tell we went out to eat A LOT?) I enjoyed the loong break from cooking but looked forward to eating healthier, not to mention much cheaper!, at home.

Hannah Beth loved sucking on this sour lemon wedge! She got quite upset when I tried to take it away from her.
Tony arrived home safely on Sunday morning, and after visiting our former church, we traveled on to spend part of the week [5th week in NC] with Tony's dad and his wife Jean.

We celebrated Jean's birthday with lunch at Jason's Deli followed by a fun trip [for the 3 of us--courtesy of Randy and Jean for Hannah Beth's birthday] to Babies/Toys R Us! We found some good stuff and picked out couple more things to purchase at home since our car space was limited [or should I say, packed to the brim!?].

Hannah Beth LOVED getting acquainted with the beagles, Hank and Grady. She even decided to try out the doggie bed several times; guess it looked pretty comfortable! The two weren't nearly as thrilled as she was about the whole baby-beagle friendship thing.

And our second to last "family stop" on our journey back home...
Visiting Tony's brother Daniel and his wife Shannon
Hannah Beth and Uncle Daniel

Hannah Beth and Aunt Shannon

Lots of fun [and no trouble at all] climbing all the steps in Daniel & Shannon's house

And our last stop on the journey homeward...dinner, bed & breakfast at my aunt & uncle's house.

5 weeks
about 4,000 miles
2 camps [3 for Tony]
1 beach trip
12 different places to stay at night
LOTS of family & friends
= Craziness, yes, I know!
VERY THANKFUL to the Lord for a great trip and safe travels!

Whew.. I must say.
It's
Good
To
Be
Home!
