A Little Blessing...

Just wanted to write a little note in addition to my last blog, "Medical Update.."

Today when I was at the gym finishing up on the eliptical, I heard a lady's voice beside me saying, "Did you have your baby yet?"
I turned to see a sweet lady who I had spoken to about my pregnancy a few months ago (when I was probably around 28-30 weeks along). She was one of the only people that I ever talked to at the gym about my pregnancy.
(I had actually been sort-of avoiding choosing a machine close to hers over the last few weeks because I had a feeling she would ask me that question.)
Anyway, I proceeded to tell her what happened, and of course she felt so bad for asking and I'm sure she was expecting to hear good news.
It turns out that she is a oncology doctor at Duke and so of course she knew all the medical terminiology for the blood tests that I've had done and everything. While we were talking, she mentioned that she knew some drs. who are great specialists in the areas of blood clotting, fetal loss, etc... then she mentioned the name of the dr. that I actually already have an appointment with on the 14th!
This sweet lady also said that people come from all over the world to see these specialists, so I am blessed and will be in very good hands! What a huge blessing and reassurance.

The best part was that I had a brief chance to just share with her that it's only by the grace of God that we can get through this, and that He is teaching us to trust in Him all the more in the process.

That's awesome...even though it must have been difficult to have to share it all again. But so cool that you could be a light for Jesus and be encouraged about your future doctor visit!! :) God is so good.

Wow that is amazing-the Lord works All thinks for His Good and Glory.
And I agree with Jodie, you are amazing to be running that is one thing I really hate :)

Way to share about the Lord. I know that for me, I receive extra comfort through each opportunity that I'm given to turn my son's loss into a testimony of God's goodness. Like you, I never had a clear reason for our loss, but even that shouts of His mercy even more as getting through the "why's" can sometimes be even harder than the event itself.
What a reassurance, hearing the name of the specialist renamed. I hope that all goes well and that there are no medical reasons for future worry.

Wow, the Lord is so good to bring just the right people in our path. I'm so glad you are in such good hands, that is such a comfort. I hope you will have some answers on the 14th, I will be praying. Praise the Lord for being able to share the Lord with her!

I came to your blog awhile ago through another's blog and just wanted you to know that I have also been praying for you. I have found such encouragement from you. We are not going through the same trials but in away it doesn't matter the actual circumstances, it's a trial and something the Lord wants us to go through and only He knows the reasons. Thank you for letting me see you walk through this with the Lord,it's helping me do it too.

It is amazing how many health care workers are Christians. You may not know if this MD was one, but God brought her to you for a reason.
