The latest in the Myers household...
Tony and I are both now on Christmas break, and it is WONDERFUL, to say the least!! It has been wonderful to just have time to relax, spend time together, and not have to go to work or school for a while.
My 1st grade class's Christmas party on Thursday went well.. the kids had a lot of fun making gingerbread houses (especially eating the candy!), making ornaments with their pictures on them, going to a special Christmas chapel, having a gift exchange, and eating yummy snacks! I was quite exhausted by the time the day was over (even though the kiddos left at noon!) and was so happy to start my break. I stayed at school for a couple extra hours to tie up loose ends and finish up my "checklist" of duties--if we teachers finished our list, we got the day off on Friday!!
On Friday afternoon we had our 33-week dr.'s appt, and everything continues to go really well. Dr. said that Baby Myers' head seems like it might be heading southward (or already be in position there), which is a good sign.. (baby is getting ready.. not sure if we are ready though!!).
I'll post the latest 33-week picture when I'm at a computer with more reliable internet access...
We got our Christmas shopping done really early this year (thanks to online shopping!), so it has been pretty low-stress, which is great!
I'm personally thankful for the weather here; yes, it's fairly cold for being NC, but not cold at all considering the winter storms and negative degree temperatures all around the USA!
Yesterday afternoon/evening, we went to Greensboro to celebrate Christmas with our "immediate" family on Tony's mom's side. It was a great time together.
Today I did some random shopping just for fun (and because I had some coupons!). I went to 4 different stores, bought quite a few things and only spent $4 altogether, thanks to Extra Care bucks from CVS, a $10 saving certificate from JC Penney's, and some awesome clearances at Bath and Body Works.. it made me happy!!
Update on our vehicle: we took it to the "shop" today, so it should be fixed by the time we get back from IA.
Speaking of IA, we are leaving in less than 2 days to go visit my family there! I am ecstatic (mixed with a little nervousness about flying being 8 months pregnant at Christmas time--although the dr. said it was perfectly fine). I absolutely cannot wait to see my family and friends. If you think of it, please pray for us on the 24th as we travel.
Two last random things...today our baby's cradle arrived to our house!! It has actually been part of Tony's family for 26+ years. Every grandchild on his mom's side slept in it as a baby, and now the first great-grandchild will be sleeping in it!!
Finally, our nursery is really coming together now.. my dear mother-in-law worked hard today and put up our butterfly border all around the room! It really makes a difference.
Wow, that was a long post.
To wrap it all up, we are blessed.
Have a wonderful Christmas!!
