A Tour of the Nursery

We finally put the finishing touches on Hannah Beth's nursery here in our "new place." It only took us 3 1/2 months.. haha.

Here are a couple "before" pictures:

Here's a little tour of the place "after"--(much thanks to my mom for all the help, especially with the painting!!)

Going clockwise around the room...

Hamper (usually full, haha), changing table and dresser, and diaper pail (and that's usually full too!..haha)

DSCF1906
Verse up close (this is a special verse that is very true to our situation...and it is quoted by Hannah in the Bible of her beloved son Samuel)

DSCF1896
Collage of Hannah Beth, clock/CD player where we listen to many lullaby CD's, pictures--Hannah Beth's ultrasound photo, and 4 pictures of Alethia Joy [one by herself, one with Tony, one with me, and one of our hands together], storage of CD's, socks, shoes, washcloths, toys, books, burp cloths, lightweight blankets, and bibs; extra music and Alethia's photo album on the floor.

"Alethia Joy's wall"---at the top, picture of our precious baby girl (pink frame made by Kristi before she was even born), in the black frame is her Certificate of Life from the hospital. The shelf includes many significant items, many of which were given to us by special friends and family: the dress, hat, booties, and beaded bracelet she wore, a candle we received at the hospital, her hospital bracelet, a "Jesus Loves Me" pink shoe from Grandpa and Grandma Smith for Christmas 2010, personalized Bible from Aunt Karen VK, flowers given for her 1st birthday by Mimi and Papa, a "name sign" handmade by Kristi, the blanket we wrapped her in, and a personalized hanging ornament from the Ragans.

[The door in between leads to the attic]

DSCF1903
Hand and footprints at 1 week old, comfy glider and ottoman where we spend many hours feeding, rocking, and cuddling, some reading material for both Hannah Beth and me, and a Boppy pillow, used often.

DSCF1901
Hannah Beth's cozy crib, butterfly mobile, and pink bin of stuffed animals underneath

DSCF1898
Closet full of cute clothes, diapers and wipes, extra blankets, clothes in a bin that have been outgrown, and extra baby shampoo and lotions.

DSCF1899
Wall hanging/quilt that came with the crib bedding, and a name plaque from the Mitchells

DSCF1900
Close up view of the name plaque (tells the meaning of her names and a verse)
