Gratitude

With this past Memorial Day and today being Alethia Joy's 16-month birthday, I've been remembering, thinking about, and reflecting on gratitude.

Ephesians 5:20, "Always giving thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ." (emphasis mine)

When I re-read this verse recently, those two words stood out to me...
Always?
Everything?

How is that even possible to give thanks for everything at all times?
Job is amazing...he praised and blessed the name of the Lord even after losing virtually everything and everyone in his life (Job 1:21).

I am slowly learning to be grateful to God in the midst of missing my precious babies.
He is teaching me that everyone in my life and everything I have are ultimately His--gifts from His hand.

I'm so grateful to God for His ultimate, indescribable gift--my Savior Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 9:15).

And I thank Him for each second, each minute, each hour, and each day that He gives me with this precious baby girl in my womb.

[On a side note, yay for being in double digits now...only 99 days until our due date :) ]
