Update on Life

(This post was supposed to be dated May 19th, 2010)

It's been a while since I've updated my blog, so here's an update on the latest with us...

Pregnancy:
--22 week appt. went well, baby girl even kicked at the doppler when the dr. was listening to her heartbeat. The dr. told me what the "plan" will most likely be for the rest of my pregnancy, and it was so great to know...especially being the "planner" that I am! So glad they are taking good care of us. --My next dr. appt. will be at 26 weeks, in which I will have the glucose test for gestational diabetes, our first growth ultrasound, and a regular O.B. appt. I think after that I will be going to see the dr. every 2 weeks.
--23 week belly pic (although I will be 24 weeks on Friday)

23 weeks (2)

--Other than being tired from my long and busy days of work, I'm thankful to be feeling really good.
--It's been fun to start to be able to watch my belly sometimes and see baby girl moving from the outside.

Future Plans
--Tony's job/ministry situation for the fall is still in the works...so we continue to pray and wait and see where/how the Lord leads us.

--Tony has had several opportunities to preach lately (both at our church and other churches) and he enjoys that so much! He also has a week of speaking at teen camp lined up for the summer along with a couple of weeks of counseling. It's been really neat to see the Lord using him in this way.

--I officially gave our principal notice today that I'm not planning to return next year to teach; whether we are here or across the country, my desire and plan is to stay home with baby girl. I kinda waited as long as I could to give her official notice, since I was in a very similar situation last school year (not planning to return to teach this 2009-2010 school year because I thought I would be home with Alethia Joy). The Lord has definitely taught us that our plan is not always His and "His ways are higher than my ways."

Speaking of School...

--We only have 6 1/2 days left! And I will be gone for 1 of those...so that makes 5 1/2! (and then 4 teacher work days).

--Out of those 5 1/2 days, tomorrow will really be my last regular teaching day, since next week will be filled with awards, parties, field day, cleaning, tying up loose ends, etc. --Yesterday our 1st grade classes had a little baby shower for us :) [actually it didn't end up being that "little"--they were so sweet and generous and showered us with gifts!] It was a blessing.

It's bittersweet in many ways, thinking back to the shower that my class last year threw for us...and all of those precious little outfits and toys and gifts are neatly stacked in drawers and closets, waiting and waiting to be used. We hope and pray that soon we will be able to get some good use out of all these things!

Looking Back and Ahead...

--The past few weekends, I've really enjoyed being able to get together with a few precious friends...strawberry picking, lunch at Panera, shopping. Tony and I have also enjoyed having guests over for lunch the last couple of Sundays...for Mother's Day and also for a "b.b.q." after church. We are very blessed with wonderful friends!

Strawberry picking (2)

--This coming weekend is one I have been anticipating for a long time...and I know my friend Rachel has been anticipating it WAY longer and more than I have, because she's getting married!

--We are so thrilled for her and Reagan and are so excited to see the ways that the Lord blesses these two in their marriage.

--I'm SO looking forward to spending some good quality time with my sweet friends Charissa, Jan, and Kristi in the 1 1/2 days before the wedding. The last time the 4 of us were all together was last summer...and life has changed a lot for all of us (one engagement, one new baby, one move from Japan back to the U.S.A, and one new baby on the way). Can't wait to catch up with these lovely ladies!

Girls' Weekend 2009 (112)

Time to get dinner on the table, head to church, and then pack for my trip! :)
