Holy Week

This past weekend, we attended my father-in-law's church on Palm Sunday since we were in town visiting for a couple of days. It happened to be a special service/Easter cantata entitled "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross."
As I watched the re-enactment of the story of Jesus being betrayed, arrested, beaten, whipped, and crucified, I found myself overwhelmed with emotion.
Just to think, that He chose to endure all that pain, suffering, and anguish for ME, for my sins!
And, praise God, that is not the end of the story!
On the 3rd day, He rose again! What a living hope we have, knowing that our Savior is alive.
My Bible lessons with my 1st graders this week have revolved around the same topics...starting at the very beginning with the fall of man leading all the way up to Christ's sacrifice and resurrection.
Oh, how I hope and pray that each of these children will put his/her faith and trust in Christ at a young age and truly live for Him!
May we always keep this at the forefront of our minds, not just in this Holy Week leading up to Easter, but throughout every week.
"God demonstrated His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 5:8
