My new nephew

My very first nephew was born yesterday morning...his name is Nehemiah James Smith.
He weighed in at 9 lbs, 7 oz., and was 21 1/2 inches long.

I am so excited for my brother and his wife and family.
It's also a little bittersweet since seeing and hearing about sweet little Nehemiah brings back a flood of memories from almost 7 months ago. I could hear his little cry in the background when I was talking to my brother yesterday afternoon.
It's amazing to think that he and his cousin Alethia were the same length (21 1/2 inches long) though he weighed over 3 pounds more than she did (both at 39 weeks gestation).
We think she would've taken after both of her grandpas and been really tall!

It will be so fun to have a little boy in the family now, and I can't wait to see my nieces and nephew and the rest of my family when I go up to visit in about 6 weeks.
It can't come soon enough!

Congrats on the nephew!
I will be praying for you as you celebrate with family, but remember your sweet girl too.

I saw your little sister at school today...I can't believe both your younger siblings are at Emmaus.

He is precious. That is how much Landon weighed too. I can't believe how tall Altheia was either. I think she definitely would have been a tall girl too. Praying for you guys as it is bittersweet. We are planning on going up to the EBC preview weekend, is that the same time you're going down too? I would love to see you if we are there at the same time!

Charity -
I just got myself acquainted with you and your journey by reading through many of your blog posts. I saw your comment on another blog (can't even remember who now) and wanted to meet you. There's such healing in meeting other moms who understand your grief. My daughter Felicity was stillborn due to a knot in her cord in Oct. 08 and I had an early miscarriage (a baby we named Jeremiah) in Feb. I've met many moms who've had an early m/c after a stillbirth and wonder if there is a connection, since most have never had a m/c before. I so thankful you have hope in Christ to get you through this dark time of missing Alethia and your other precious one. (Did you name that baby? I found great healing in doing so!)
Blessings,
Rachel
