I just started reading a book called When God & Grief Meet by Lynn Eib, and I wanted to share a few things that have stood out to me and have spoken to my heart...
"When God and grief meet, His power, peace, and presence are bigger and more real than our uncertainties, sorrow, and loneliness."
"Healing from a deep loss is not about recovery and returning to 'the way things were.' Rather, it's about allowing ourselves to keep on changing and becoming, amidst the pain." (Robert Zucker)
We choose whether to allow God to change and teach us in the midst of the pain.
Psalm 119:28, "My soul melts away for sorrow; strengthen me according to your word!"
Psalm 94:19, "When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul."

Thanks for sharing. I really appreciate the quote from Zucker. It reminds me of a quote from C.S. Lewis' book "The Problem of Pain".
"...trials and tribulations cannot cease until God either sees us remade or sees that our remaking is now hopeless." He talks about how God can make "complex good" out of evil and pain-not only the shaping of ourselves, but of those around us.
And in that regard you are a shining testimony to me!
i like the last part of that the best "we choose if we let God teach us through our pain". isn't that the truth. thanks for sharing! love you :)
LOVE those verses in Psalm! :) Thanks for sharing. Sounds like a great book.
Thank you for sharing this. Both of those verses have brought me such comfort and it was so good to be reminded of God's truth.
I also loved that second quote from Robert Zucker. Sometime it feels like people just want you to "move on" for lack of a better phrase, but Alethia is a part of your family now and will be forever.
God can use the most heart-wrenching circumstances to draw us closer to Him and change us into who He wants us to be. Praying for you.
